Just an update after nearly a year. Only one turned out to be a pullet but she’s a beautiful blue.
The golden laced cockerel has started attacking my dogs! He’s fine with me. My dominant silver laced cockerel came to the rescue and chased him away so I am at a new level of admiration for him. The barred cockerel cares more about eating than anything else. And sadly, I had to dispatch the buff because of an injured leg. But he was spoiled rotten and insisted on being fed by hand. I would never be able to pick a favorite if not for the silver laced being able to watch over his girls and dogs!

I received my six Cochins (1free) with my Barred Rocks and Leghorn pullets the morning after they shipped. They are all very lively, happy and thriving! I’m no expert but pretty sure there’s 1 buff, 1 golden laced, 2 silver laced and 2 that could be blue or splash! Whatever they are, I couldn’t be happier! And if there are too many roo’s, the Leghorns and Barred Rocks can keep them company! I will definitely order from Cackle Hatchery again because chicken craziness only gets worse, haha!

I ordered 5 standard Cochin plus. And I received 6. Currently I think i have 1 male partridge and 1 female partridge, 1 splash female, 1 barred male, and 2 gold laced female. They are turning out to be big graceful birds. The barred one is extremely adorable following anyone everywhere. I am pleased with this purchase.

Great purchase!
We are extremely happy with our standard cochin surplus chicks. We ordered 15 chicks and received 17. We got all the colors except for blue. They are growing into big, beautiful, fluffy and very friendly birds, even the roosters. Out of the 17 we have 7 roosters and 10 hens, so very pleased with our straight run ratio. We got 2 barred(1 rooster, 1 hen), 1 buff hen, 2 partridge(1 hen, 1 rooster), 2 silver laced hens, 2 white roosters, 1 splash rooster, 4 black hens, and 3 gold laced(2 roosters, 1 hen). All were super healthy from day one. Highly recommend the surplus to get a nice selection of good birds!

Love these birds
I love my Cochins! They are so sweet, easy to handle. I ordered the assortment and got a good variety, I believe we have 4 colors. These birds are almost a year old now. They arrived healthy and have stayed that way. I will order again.

Grand champion
I ordered cochin, silkies, spitzhauben, polish, and easter Eggers. I was happy with all of my birds. My daughter took a female polish, silkie, and male cochin and golden laced spitzhauben to fair and got two blue ribbons and two grand champion ribbons. All of my day old chicks are now 8 months old healthy and laying. I lost one in transport but they shipped three extra. I lost one the day after they arrived. I was shocked they did so well shipping so young.
