Description

The Golden Sebright Bantam is a colorful variety of the Sebright Bantam breed, a true miniature chicken that was developed in England in the 1800’s. You may notice that the males of this breed do not have sickle feathers, which is just one of many unique traits that characterize these birds. Recognized by the American Poultry Standard of Perfection in 1874, this is a high-quality breed that is a great choice for anyone in search of a show chicken. They love to pose and are very spirited breed.  We added some new blood line from Matt Haehn to this breed in 2011 to help bring the size down. We cannot breed them too small or they will not ship well as baby chicks.  We have Golden Sebright Bantam chicks available during chick season, so place your order today. Don’t hesitate to contact the Cackle Hatchery® team if you have any questions.

Excellent quality health chicks every single one thrived from the get go. Turning into really lovely pullets and cockrels.

Cackle has been my “go to” hatchery for the past few years for good reason. The Sebrights are no exception to the rule here. The Golden Sebrights are pretty little bantams with a pretty mild nature once they are handled. Cackle’s birds came in with a large order in May and they have grown out to be exceptional birds. The colors and comb seem to pop among the other birds at the farm.

    Beautiful but shy

I ordered 3 kinds of bantams this spring — Buff Orpingtons, Old English Game Bantams, and Sebrights. The Sebrights are beautiful but shy. I raised them the same as the other 2 kinds but they will not let me pick them up. They will eat treats out of my hands, though. The roosters crow A LOT, I don’t know if that’s a trait of the breed or if they’re compensating for something 😉 Thank you Cackle Hatchery for such beautiful, healthy birds.
