I ended up with a nice variety of cochins and old english from this batch. I really am in-love with the cuckoo cochins with their 3-D like feathers (and possibility to sex-link with a solid black or true blue rooster). I just wish that they came in a larger version of bantam. Fully grown all bantam cochins will weigh 1 lb 6 ounces. My handsome frizzled true blue silkie weighs 3 lbs 7 ounces of solid body mass with lots of fluff. I would really love to end up with some color sex-linked satin roosters from this crossover. Hopefully, a two pound difference won’t result in future issues. The next size up, being the standard sized cuckoo cochins, might require grappling hooks for my true blue frizzled roo to mount.

What a great deal! I received 2 buff brahmas, 2 barred cochins, 3 red cochins, 3 Partridge cochins, and 3 barred rocks. 13 healthy bantam pullets arrived and all survived.

First time chick order from anywhere. Ordered April 21, 2020. Recieved email same day(Image attached). Chicks shipped on correct estimated day May 4, 2020. Picked up from the post office 5/6/2020.
-they had little green food gel and I guess a heating pad.
-I ordered the 5 pullet deal and recieved 8 which they said they would send in the confirmation email.
-picked them up at 8am, they have been very active and happy. I’ll update if anything changes. So far very impressed.

Beautiful and gentle ckickens
when the chicks arrived, we were sad to find that 4 had not survived the long way out to our ranch. But since we were given a few extras, we now have 8 healthy, beautiful and gentle chickens! The different varieties are amazing, we love our tiny and curious English Game hens. All chickens have their own personality! The kids adore them. The hens started laying eggs earlier then the rescue chickens from the local farm store. They love their fresh veggies and are busy outside during every kind of weather!

great chickens
These are the nicest chickens we have ever had!! I actually got these on the heels of buying some sick chickens locally, all of whom promptly died except 1, who became our House Chicken. I thought House Chicken would enjoy some company, but she did not care about the new chickens, and wouldn’t dream of moving outside. We got a nice mix, with cochins, feathered feet & old English & barred. My husbandwas skeptical of their chances, because it was cold for May, & they were sooo tiny. They were warm and in good shape in their double wrapped box with food gel, including 1 extra chick. They jumped out and ate and drank right away. The girls are super healthy and were fully feathered in about 6 weeks, which I could not believe! Notably, these are the nicest chickens-to each other & to us-rarely a cross word or peck out of them, and several will follow us and talk, all around the yard. They have rarely touched prepared chicken feed since they have grown, preferring cracked corn, sunflower seeds & whatever they can find in the yard. They are laying little tan delicious eggs at the 6 month mark. Customer service was great, and I will always order from Cackle Hatchery!
