I kept golden laced and cuckoo bantam cochin 1 lb 10 ounce hens. I am really excited to breed my 2 lb 7 ounce red partridge solid feathered satin silkie rooster with the cuckoo cochins to produce male sex linked crele chicks. I rarily see crele, so will create some from these little cuties from cackle hatchery stock. Actually, APA award winning cuckoo silkies started from cuckoo bantam cochin and black silkie satin mixes backbred to silkies for multiple generations.

My chicks all arrived healthy except 1 that passed. I got 10 , 9 are roosters!!! Next time i will pay the extra $$$ and get hens… What in the world am i going to do w/them?? Anyone have an idea???

Hardy with a variety of colors that with proper care should not only thrive but will be show quality. Definitely worth buying cochins from Cackle Hatchery.

I ordered 15, and received 18. 3 of the chicks didn’t look like they were going to survive, but they ended up making it. I had the most rotten luck, 15 out of 18 were male, and the 3 females were the ones that arrived weak and small. All the males were strong and healthy. I have another order of 15 arriving this week, I sure hope I get some females this time and they are strong and healthy.

We got buff, silver pencil, blue, black, and partridge in our package. Had a reasonable cockerel vs pullet ratio. We still have a few of them here and they are very pretty birds but they do have a little of an attitude. LOL. Nothing I can’t handle though.

I ordered 15 assorted Cochin bantams and received 18. Unfortunately 1 didn’t make the long journey and we lost 1 more chick the same day they arrived. We ended up with 16 healthy, thriving baby chicks with a good mix of colors. I would order from Cackle again for sure!

Sweetest little chickens
I received 5 Bantam Cochins, all mixed color – straight run. There ended up being 2 roosters. One black (Licorice) and one dark (Molasses) – just gorgeous. The others were 2 light tan and one white (Sugar). The light tan hen (Honey) is the sweetest hen I have ever owned. She comes running over and wants to sit in your lap. My kids favorite chicken. Highly recommend this breed.

Cute and friendly
I ordered 5 and was sent 6! 2 Black, 2 Silver Pencil, 1 buff and 1 red. We are very pleased with them. They’re perfect for little kids as they are docile and easy to hold. They look and feel like balls of fluff. =) they are not the greatest egg layers, but not many batter are.

My beloved grandma insisted that cochin bantams were the best. 30 years later, I agree. Have kept this breed since 2010. This batch was great! Smart, not needy. Good foragers.

I ordered the Chochin Bantam special. I wanted a variety and was nervous for what I would get. I ended up getting half roosters half hens and a great variety of colors. Healthy chicks
Almost every chicken of ours is a cackle! That being said i was slightly dissapointed with this shipment. They sent an extra baby and they are all healthy which is fantastic. But theirs just no variety. I have 4 of the same. Thats why theirs only 4 starts. But i will be ordering again, i always do. Cackle has the heathiest chicks!

Little Puff Balls!
I am extremely pleased with my order of assorted cochin bantams! I ordered 5 and they sent 9! I received 2 shades of blue 2 splash 2 extremely puffy partridge sisters 1 silver penciled 1 black and 1 birchen. All 9 arrived strong and energetic. The birchen was the only cockerel out of the bunch. Overall this is was an outstanding purchase and experience and I could not be happier. I highly recommend this assortment special.
