Description
Liege Fighters are the most famous of the Belgian game breeds. They are especially fierce fighters and will handily take on predators, giving them their nickname Hawk Killers. But they are friendly toward other animals and toward people, especially children.
This extra-large game fowl comes from the Liege region of Belgium, developed in the 19th century. The roosters may stand as tall as 30 inches and weigh as much as 12 pounds. They have an upright stance, muscular legs, large spurs, and gigantic feet. Their long, strong necks and prominent eyebrows enhance their fierce appearance. Liege Fighters are genuinely impressive as they grandly march around the barnyard with a proud air of confidence.
The heavy muscling of this breed also makes them excellent as meat birds. Because they are slow growing, the meat is especially flavorful. Liege Fighters don’t fully mature until about 18 months of age.
Cackle Hatchery® offers a limited number of hatching eggs from our breeding flock of Liege Fighters. Because summer heat increases the risk of eggs not hatching, we do not ship eggs between mid June and the first of August. If you wish to obtain hatching eggs from this truly impressive game breed, please contact us
We offer no guarantees and no refunds. Order at your own risk.
